Legend of the Tailed Beasts



In ancient Japan, according to legend, every god of the elements was sealed in a sacred container. Within the 9 Bijuu, 5 of them were elemental gods, those were Shukaku (god of wind), Kyubi (god of fire), Isonade (god of water), Raijuu (god of lightning) and kaku (god land).



In the Legend of the Tailed Beasts, the 5 elemental gods were sealed with instruments called "power tools" Not all are known, and their translation may not be accurate, but all resemble a type varied container (pyramids, prison, altar, etc.).



The "Tools of Power" descend from the "Eight Immortals of Chinese mythology. These deities who transfer their individual energy to each "Tool of Power", which is able to give life or destroy evil. Together the eight tools are called "Secret of the 8 Immortals


The Immortals are: Immortal Woman He (He Xiangu), The Real Cao (Cao Guojiu) Metal Crutch Li (Li Tieguai), Lan Caihe, Lü Dongbin, The Philosopher Han Xiang (Han Xiang Zi), The Elder Zhang Guo and Zhongli Quan.



Continuing the story of the sacred containers:


respective containers were dedicated to elemental Bijuu, dispersed throughout the territory of Japan. Container being the strongest fire. The containers were following espirirual releasing energy, even when the bijuu are sealed and sleep. All this power was the 5 shrines sacred to the 5-Tails: Houkou.


After Yamata no Orochi that won the legendary sword Kusanagi no Tsurugi from the Kusanagi clan, defeated and Hokou Nekomata (See the story of Yamata no Orochi). Yamata no Orochi proceeded to release a tremendous amount of dark power to awaken at 5 elemental Bijuu, that were sealed in the 5 shrines, for the purpose of bringing chaos between worlds. By releasing the biju, all fought to see which one deserved the title of "King of Bijuu" and all out fighting Yamata no Orochi with which deserves this title: Kyuubi no Youko. This has an infinite amount of chakra and therefore, Yamata no Orochi was defeated.
