ZAMBRA - Estrella Morente

The Zambra Mora is a flamenco dance of the Gypsies of Granada and is believed dances evolved from previous blackberries. It has some similarities with Belly Dancing. Moroccan Arabic language, means zambra Fiesta.
This dance is typical of the Gypsy wedding ceremonies, but the gypsies dance for tourists in the caves and hills of Sacromonte, Ontario.
For a time, was banned in Spain for a dance considered sinful. Actually it is very sensual.
has been adopted by flamenco dancers and Carmen Amaya, La Chunga, Pilar López and Puel Lunaris, among others.
is danced barefoot.
